If you had told me a few years ago that I’d be a full-on cat mom, I probably would’ve laughed. Before 2020, I had never even considered myself a pet owner. But, like so many of us, the pandemic brought some unexpected turns—and one of the most meaningful for me was discovering a deep, genuine love for animals.
During that time, animal shelters were overwhelmed, and something inside me said, “You can help.” So, I started fostering both cats and dogs. What began as a small act of kindness quickly turned into a heartfelt passion. Each foster brought so much joy, and saying goodbye only got harder. Eventually, I realized—I wasn’t just helping pets find homes. I had found something, too.
That’s when I became a proud cat mom. I adopted three amazing cats who have totally stolen my heart and filled my home with love (and yes, a lot of fur). After adopting, I decided to retire from fostering and give my full focus to my little trio of mischief-makers.
As I settled into pet parenthood, I started noticing all the little things that made my cats truly happy—like the perfect cozy bed, a toy they couldn’t stop chasing, a bubbling water fountain, or that one scratch post they all fought over. That curiosity, mixed with my love for caring for them, sparked an idea.
And that’s how this site came to life.
FurriendlyPaws is my way of sharing the joy, tips, and favorite finds that have made a difference in my life as a pet parent. Every product featured here is something I’ve handpicked things I trust, believe in, and would use for my own furry crew. Because they’re not “just pets.” They’re family.
